Client Introduction

Battle Honours Limited bring alive the dry pages of history through their specialist battlefield tour program. Arranged by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, their aim is to provide quality battlefield tours at a realistic price but above all to uphold the memory of those who served in both world wars.

Initially Battle Honours Limited was founded to provide high quality tours on the battlefields of the Great War and World War 2. Catering for parties of 4 to 100, they can arrange a tour where itineraries can be bespoke made to suit your needs. Their hand picked team of guides are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their subject.

2008 Updates

Every year Amasci undertake updates to the Battle Honours website to present the forthcoming seasons schedule. The latest updates for the 2008 season have just been completed and were extensive across the whole website. We have moved Battle Honours into the new season with some brand new features and some visual revisions which encompasses and compliments their printed brochure wonderfully.

Moving the website to the centre of the screen, introducing the blue background throughout the browser, changing the layout of the homepage as well as updating the layout of the tour pages where just some of the visual updates that were undertaken.

eShot System

One of the new features we have introduced is a mailing list/newsletter signup allowing clients and users to signup to the popular monthly 'Quickfirer'. This has been integrated with our eShot system allowing Battle Honours to keep and track an online mailing list which is dynamically updated with new subscribers and unsubscribers and allows them complete control over the eShots and newsletters they send to their subscribers.

Lightbox Tour Image Gallery

As part of the new 2008 schedule, Battle Honours are running a trip to the Falklands. This is a high profile trip and to give it a promotion boost we discussed the possibility of a mini photo gallery. Amasci incorporated the lightbox photo gallery system to present the images. The finished page can be seen here: http://www.battle-honours.co.uk/tours_falklands.htm

Initial Project Overview

The main objective was to successfully complete a professional revamp of Battle Honours Ltd’s existing website, having already established a corporate identity of a logo and base colours of blue (HEX Value #000052); the site had to be designed around this existing branding whilst offering a professional look and feel that also offered an expandable website in terms of structure and content.

This meant that the navigation had to be designed to be flexible with the possibility of expansion of new sections and pages in the future. The main sections – Tours – had to be split into two sections:
Past and Present. These two sections had to be versatile so this had to considered within the page design/layout in order to accommodate the continual addition and replacement of tours that Battle Honours Limited offered or had successfully completed.

Before the initial meeting with Julian Whippy and Clive Harris (The Managing Directors of Battle Honours Limited), it had already been established that they liked the production of Battlefield Journey Limited website that had been produced by Amasci Creative Limited. Battle Honours Limited wanted to incorporate this style/layout whilst managing to maintain their own identity and individuality that would set Battle Honours Limited apart from other Battlefield tour operating websites.

The website had to harmonize with the fast expansion of Battle Honours Limited. The main objects that were established at the start of the project were as follows:

The website has been overwhelmingly well received by Battle Honours Limited and their customers. With the continued expansion of Battle Honours Limited it is expected that the business relationship and possibility of potential projects as well as continual maintenance of the website will continue long into the future.

What the client said

"We spent a considerable amount of time seeking a website designer as we sought to enhance our company’s web profile. It was via a similar website that we found Amasci Creative Limited. Amasci were pleased to meet face to face with us, something we felt essential given the companies projected spend on the project. Throughout the process they remained available, flexible, met our deadlines with a smile and delivered a website we feel reflects our company’s image, direction and mission statement. I would wholeheartedly recommend Amasci Creative Limited for companies seeking a fresh innovative web presence."
