Case Study :: ElectroDetection

Client Introduction

ElectroDetection was established in 1983, primarily to locate and map underground services. They became part of Plowman Craven in 2006 and have continued to rapidly expand.

Project Overview

Plowman Craven came to Amasci to develop the ElectroDetection website after the huge success of their many projects with Amasci Creative Limited. The brief was short and simple and this was to develop a basic structured website to promote the range of underground services that ElectroDetection offer. This would initially be a 5/6 page website with the ability to expand and deliver detailed content on the various markets ElectroDetection work within.

The website had to incorporate elements of the Plowman Craven branding whilst managing to stand apart as a separate entity. The site needed to be ‘alive’ with content and initially we were given the strap line of “You think the roads are congested? You should see underground!” Amasci created the graphics and flash movie based around this strap line and this gave the foundation for the remaining aspects of the website.

The flash movie was created by using layer masks and ‘real’ video footage which was sped up and adjusted using blending tools to fit into the landscape office city background image. This was also adjusted to fit into the colour palette we created for the website.

The website was created using HTML and CSS and is a complete tableless design. The website is 100% W3C compliant and validates to HTML 4.01 Transitional and CSS – for full information and validation results please visit:

Amasci Creative Limited once again created a website that both ourselves and Plowman Craven/ ElectroDetection are proud of, using a range of the latest technologies to complete a successful job.

The website has been extremely well received by both Plowman Craven and ElectroDetection and the website is certain to generate new commissions and leads.

Discussions for the second phase, the creation of sections for the various vertical markets that ElectroDetection work within are underway and these should be added to the website as part of the phase two expansion very soon – watch this space!!!
