Case Study :: Riaflex Equine

Client Introduction

Riaflex Equine offer a range of joint care that are the best nutritional formulas ever developed for healthy, flexible joints for horses, dogs and cats. Kate Williams, an established sports and equine therapist with a wealth of experience in treating and rehabilitating joint injuries and diseases, founded Riaflex in 2006. Riaflex offer a full eCommerce system allowing users to purchase anything from the full Riaflex product range through their website.

Project Overview

Riaflex Equine wanted a fresh new professional makeover with changes to their existing website structure. Amasci developed a brief with Riaflex that would make their new website much easier to use whilst offering a more intuitive eCommerce aspect using the already established PayPal setup that Riaflex had in place.

After discussing and establishing the initial website brief with Kate we quickly developed a revised website structure which not only make the whole website more appealing but would vastly improve usability. These changes incorporated a full rewrite of every section from Kate (this helped cut down the content, whilst allowing her to refresh the tone and feel of the website). A dedicated page for each individual product with each product being accessible from any page. This allowed more information to be presented for each product, whilst making navigation a lot easier for the end user. It also helped to highlight the full product range and increase the brand awareness.

Newsletter Signup and eShot System

One of the new features that has been introduced is a mailing list/newsletter signup allowing clients and users to signup to the mailing list. This will vastly help Kate with her marketing and promotion of new products as well as her existing product range. This has been integrated with our eShot system allowing Riaflex Equine to keep and track an online mailing list which is dynamically updated with new subscribers and unsubscribers and allows them complete control over the eShots and newsletters they send to their subscribers.

We also provided full training on how to use the eShot system and how to manage their mailing list members.

PayPal eCommerce Integration

The old website already used the PayPal system to take payment for the products. Our task was to adopt the current PayPal setup and integrate into the new website. It wasn't a simple case of switching the code over as Riaflex wanted some bespoke features and also had changed their delivery rules and prices (something the old site didn't do very well). So we had to develop the products sections with these changes and options whilst still conforming to the PayPal rules and system constraints. The following new features were developed for the website:

• Delivery Dropdown Option - allowing users to choose between UK and Europe, this then updated the price accordingly in the cart when added.
  
  
• 'How Did You Find Us?' Dropdown Option - allowing users to specify how they had found the website. These properties where then passed through PayPal and will appear on the order so that Riaflex can see the feedback.
  
  
• Allowing users to purchase without a PayPal account - the old website only allowed users to purchase if they had a PayPal account. We changed the settings within the account to allow users to just enter their credit card details without having to register to purchase. Something that Riaflex had previously had issues with.
  
  
• Customised Shopping Cart - we developed a custom layout for the shopping cart to give a clear indication it was part of the Riaflex Equine website.
  
  

The Riaflex Equine website has been well received by the client and her own customers.
